Her Moves Beach Tour 2023

The Her Moves Beach Tour kicked off in Bettystown, Co.Meath from July 24th-26th.The event was organised by Volleyball Ireland, Handball Ireland, Swim Ireland and Meath Local Sports Partnership and encouraged girls to break out of their comfort zones and try new sports. The Beach Tour has started as a hit!

VOLLEYBALL- Spikes and Smiles!

The morning kicked off with a bang as the girls gathered for some thrilling beach volleyball action. Guided by none other than the Irish National Beach Volleyball champion, Miriam Gormally, the girls were in for a treat! Miriam led the girls through fun games and engaging drills, instilling fun, and excitement for this high-energy sport. It was amazing to witness the smiles on the girls' faces as they practiced serving, volleying, and working as a team, enjoying every moment of the session. The speaker was a welcome addition with some tunes playing in the background!

OLYMPIC HANDBALL – Teamwork in Action!

Next on the agenda was Olympic handball, a sport known for its fast-paced action and teamwork. Under the watchful eye of Caroline Nerb as and João Ferreira, the girls got a chance to delve into the world of this exciting sport. Starting with the basics, the girls quickly found their confidence in flying and frolicking on the sandy court. As they played matches together, they displayed amazing teamwork and the power of collective effort. The enthusiasm and energy were contagious throughout this session!

Synchronized Swimming - Making Waves!

The day wouldn't have been complete without a dip in the Irish Sea for a swim! Despite the initial chill, the girls showed incredible bravery as they waded into the sea to learn the art of synchronized swimming maneuvers. Adapting to the differences between pool and open-water swimming and guided by Aoife Drumm, the girls showcased determination and an amazing attitude throughout the session. With the waves calmed down from the previous day, the girls got a good grip on many of the techniques they made memories that will last a lifetime.
