Parents getting involved and volunteering
It is incredibly helpful for parents to get involved in their teenage daughter's sports activities.
Whether it is through volunteering, attending games, or even joining them on team trips, parental involvement in teenage girl sports can help boost confidence, build better team relationships, and teach girls lifelong lessons.
When a parent is actively involved, it shows the daughter that her parent cares about her and is invested in her success. This can also positively impact her performance while still allowing her to take ownership of her team. In addition, when parents are involved in a supportive way, teenage girls often measure their success more holistically and learn about the value of hard work, perseverance and team camaraderie.
It is important to assist where help is limited. Volunteering your time to help as a coach or team manager can be time consuming, but the advantages can make a huge difference. Not only can it be rewarding for you as a parent, but your daughter will know that you are there for her and value her athletic goals. You will be able to attend her practices and be up to date on her progress. You can encourage her, help her with strategy, and provide the needed supports they need to succeed. That’s why it’s so important for parents to get involved in their daughter's sports and volunteer -the rewards are long lasting and a true gift.
Overall, parents volunteering in teenage girl sports can be an incredibly beneficial experience for both parents and their daughters.
